Pictures of a Lost World: Jewish Life in Nuremberg

From 1850 on, the Jewish citizens were fully integrated in Nuremberg’s city community. Just as their Christian neighbours, they were active in the city life as businessmen, lawyers, and shop owners. They held offices and honorary offices in municipal functions and promoted public welfare. They considered themselves as Germans of Mosaic faith.
The following pictures illustrate their daily life in Nuremberg.
